Skimboarding can be done at pretty much any beach with good waves. Some popular places around here are the jetty in the Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Gordon’s Pond in Rehoboth Beach, and many sections of Dewey Beach. Picking a good skim spot all comes down to what kind of wave you prefer. There are two main types of waves: liners and wraps. A liner is a wave that crashes at a pretty normal pace, kind of far out in the water, and you can ride it for a long time. A wrap is a wave that crashes pretty close to the shore and the ride is shorter, but you get more speed and wraps are usually more powerful. If you are looking for liners, then a place like the jetty in the state park or Gordon’s Pond would suit you well. If you are in the mood for wraps, then you should try out certain parts of Dewey and Rehoboth Beach.
